Vaporizers at VapeFuse

Vaporizers have revolutionized the budding cannabis industry as well as the well established tobacco industry.

Here at VapeFuse we focus mostly on cannabis vaporizing, however it is inevitable to cross into tobacco vaping territory at times.

If you are new to vaporizing (also referred to as “vaping”), the first concept to get your head around is how different materials are vaporized.

Different materials vaporized by specific vaporizers

Liquid vaporizers: Vaporizing liquids is the easiest in terms of technology. Liquid vaporizing have been popularized by devices known as ‘e-cigarettes’.  There are many type of liquid vaporizers, from JUUL style pods to 510 thread pens and mods and many others. Liquid vaporizers are also used to vape oils such as CBD or THC oil.

Wax vaporizers: Another category of vaporizers are devices specifically made for waxy substances, such as cannabis concentrates. Vaporizing these substances is quite a lot more complicated than vaporizing liquids as far as technology is concerned.

Herbal vaporizers: Herbal vapes heat herbal matter, such as ground cannabis leafs to extract the active ingredients from the herbs in vapor form. We love herbal vaporizing here at VapeFuse as this is the most natural way of vaporizing cannabis.

In this video, Matt from the VapeFuse Team explains the basics about liquid vaporizing, wax and herbal vaporizing.

This is one of the first things to get your head around when you are learning about vaporizing.

Herbal Vaporizing

Liquid and Wax vaporizers are a lot more self explanatory than herbal vapes.

Heating a liquid or waxy substances will vaporize at a certain temperature.

However with herbal vapes, you have to create vapor out of a solid matter. This requires a fair a bit of technology to make it happen. Herbal vaporizers heat the herbs up to approximately 190 Celsius (374°F). At this temperature, the active ingredients of the plant evaporate in vapor form.

There are two main ways how herbal vaporizers heat the herbs up. Let’s dive into those next.

Convection and Conduction Herbal Vaporizers

When you dive into the world of herbal vaporizers, one of the main things that you’ll keep hearing are these two words: convection and conduction.

A conduction vaporizer heats the chamber itself and that heat transfers onto the herbs.

A convection vaporizer heats up the air that goes through the chamber. This hot air heats up the herbs and extracts the vapor.

There are so called ‘Hybrid Vaporizers’ that utilize a combination of conduction and convection heating methods.

In this video Matt Explains the difference between Convection and Conduction vaporizers.

Portable and Desktop Vaporziers

Depending on your needs and circumstances, you have the option to buy a portable or a table top herbal vaporizer.

Portable Vaporizers

Portable vapes have the big advantage of not being limited to a plug in power source. You can take them with you anywhere around the house and even outside. Portable vaporizers are powered by batteries or by butane gas and offer a lot of freedom to vape.

Desktop Vaporizers

Table or desktop vapes are powered by a power cable and permanently plugged in. The big advantage is that they are not limited to battery power and often a lot more powerful than portable vaporizers.

Watch this short video to learn about the major differences between portable and desktop vaporizers.
